Plastic welding rods PC - Polycarbonate
PC has a high strength, stiffness, toughness and hardness. Polycarbonates are largely resistant to the effects of weather and radiation. They are flammable, the flame goes out, however, after removal of the ignition source. Polycarbonates are also good insulators against electricity. Polycarbonate is used in the electrical and equipment, in covers, packaging, box covers, in body and model as well as camping equipment.
Polycarbonate (PC), is a thermoplastic and formally polyester of carbonic acid. PC has high strength, impact strength, stiffness and hardness. Polycarbonates are transparent and colorless, but can also be colored. As a transparent plastic, it is often used as an alternative to glass, since comparable light transmittance values exist. Compared to brittle glass, polycarbonate is lighter and significantly more impact resistant. Polycarbonates are resistant to water, many mineral acids, hydrocarbons and many oils and fats. The melting point of PC is about 220°C to 230°C, the continuous use temperature is max. 125°C.
