Plastic welding rods PE-LD - Polyethylene "low density"
LDPE has slightly branched polymer chains, resulting in low-density (LD). Polyethylene is the most widely produced plastic. Examples are the use of container construction, pipes, bottles and films.
Low-density polyethylene (PE-LD), also LDPE, is a thermoplastic produced by chain polymerization of ethene. Polyethylene belongs to the group of polyolefins. It is the most widely used plastic in the world. PE-LD is characterized by high chemical resistance, good electrical insulation and good sliding properties. Low density polyethylene is of low strength, hardness and stiffness. It has high ductility and impact strength. PELD is resistant to mineral lubricants, aliphatic hydrocarbons, gasoline, mineral acids, alkalis and alcohols. The melting point of PE-LD is approx. 130°C to 145°C, the continuous use temperature is max. -80°C to +70°C.
